Let’s Talk About Black Friday on 11.27

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, which is the fourth Thursday of November. It is the biggest shopping day of the year in the United States.

The name “Black Friday” originates from the practice in American corporate accounting of recording losses in red and profits in black. Companies and stores that struggled with losses and poor sales throughout the year would record their books in black on the day after Thanksgiving, hence the name Black Friday.

On this day in the U.S., both online and offline, in any category, accumulated stock from the year is sold at insane discounts.

In Korea, a similar event called Korea Black Friday has been implemented for a few years, but it doesn’t offer discounts as significant as those in the original Black Friday.

So, it might be a good idea to look for deals on sites like Amazon or eBay that offer international shipping (many sites won’t allow you to buy discounted items if your address is in another country, so using a forwarding address service could help).

However, since this is the biggest annual sale event, the competition is fierce both online and offline. Even if you click quickly, it might still be hard to buy popular items like computer parts, electronics, and various mobile devices.

Therefore, you might want to give up early and experience the generous Black Friday discounts by purchasing games on Steam. Haha.

For U.S. direct purchases, keep in mind that the sales follow U.S. time zones. If you plan to buy online, make sure to check the time and click quickly to ensure you succeed. Haha.

I’m planning to try for a Nintendo Switch, computer parts, and maybe some Apple products myself.
