iPad Pro 4th Generation 12.9-inch

When my younger sibling started university, our parents bought them a Samsung laptop.

They were using it quite well until one day, they formatted it using the Samsung Recovery program, and the webcam stopped working.

Naturally, they took it to the service center, where the technician said the webcam needed to be replaced.

Assuming that the key programs for the webcam were lost during the format, we entrusted the replacement to them.

However, when we got the laptop back, the bottom case was crumpled as if they had pried it open with a screwdriver, there were rattling noises inside, and the thermal contact wasn’t good, causing it to crash even when moving a few files. It was in worse condition than when the webcam wasn’t working.

When my sibling told me this, I initially thought it was a minor issue caused by a defect, something I could tolerate easily since I usually overlook minor scratches (haha). But this wasn’t some shady repair shop; it was a service center technician who had crumpled the aluminum case, left the interior messy, and improperly installed the CPU heat sink, causing lag. I was angry, not just because they damaged my sibling’s laptop, but also because it’s unacceptable for a professional to work this carelessly.

Anyway, they promised to replace both the top and bottom cases and reassemble it neatly if we sent it back for re-repair. After the re-repair, the laptop still had issues (like touch malfunctions). We had to visit the center personally to get a refund.

After getting the refund from Samsung, my sibling decided to return to being an Apple user and bought the iPad Pro 4th generation 12.9-inch model.

Finally, the package has arrived!

The introduction to this review was quite long, haha.

Only those who have experienced opening an Apple box can understand the excitement of tearing that tape.

Opening the box reveals the product nestled in a unique structure designed to absorb shocks.

Wow.

I compared the box with the one I have for the 3rd generation Pro. The left is the 3rd generation, and the right is the 4th generation. Hmm… the 3rd generation box looks prettier? (Not just self-justification, really.)

Apple’s packaging even gives an inexplicable pleasure when peeling off the plastic.

Can’t relate?

Buy one and you’ll understand.

Peeling off the plastic makes the printed picture look more radiant.

Opening the lid reveals the majestic silhouette of the iPad Pro.

The pleasure of peeling off the protective film is also… amazing.

Finally, the iPad reveals its bare form.

Anyway, the device looks awesome.

Below the box are the manuals and

the charger and cable.

Starting with the iPhone 12, they no longer include a charger. They claim it’s to prevent environmental pollution?

They switched the cable connection to a USB-C type, so old USB-A chargers are unusable, and the phone connection is still Lightning, preventing mixed use with other devices.

You end up buying separate chargers for each device due to non-standardized cables, yet they claim excluding chargers helps the environment? Haha.

Honestly, the charger isn’t a big deal if they insist on removing it. Many people prefer using multi-chargers with multiple ports on their desks, and many wall sockets now include USB ports.

But they shouldn’t justify it in such a disgusting way.

Despite such a disgusting justification, the Apple logo still looks beautiful to an Apple fan.

I powered it on.

Fortunately, the Apple logo was saved from the mosaic.

The initial power-up guides you through the setup process.

If you have an iPhone, just having it nearby initiates automatic setup synchronization.

The setup starts automatically when the camera captures the animation, though I don’t know what it’s called.

The initial setup was completed in no time.

I compared it with the 3rd generation.

There’s not much difference in the front.

Not much difference on the side either.

The speaker configuration is the same.

The only noticeable difference is in the back.

The only visible difference is that the 4th generation has better cameras, now with dual cameras, and includes a LiDAR scanner for measuring distances.

But… given it’s a tablet, it doesn’t seem like a very significant upgrade.

In addition to the exterior, the processor has been upgraded, and it now supports Wi-Fi 6, but these upgrades aren’t very noticeable, so there’s no need for a 3rd generation user to switch to the 4th generation.

(This ends the post on the iPad Pro 4th generation 12.9-inch model.)

My sibling also bought several accessories, so I suddenly have plenty of content for future posts. Haha.
